There was a night
Many years ago
I found myself homeless
Out in the chapping cold
I had ran away
From violence and pain
And found myself standing
Out in the freezing rain
You saw me alone
My bruises I could not hide
You showed you cared
Even offered me a ride
Hospital A&E,
Is where you said that I should be
Concerned for my welfare
You took care of me

I was touched by

I know it was many
Moons ago
But you lifted me up
When I was low


You brought me a blanket
Some food and hot tea
You sat in the chilly night
Just talking to me
You didn't want to leave
But it was getting late
You were worried
About my fate
In the morning I woke
Managed some sleep
Because of the warmth of the blanket
You had given me to keep
I returned the plate
The cup and the cover
I hope you know that you helped
This young girl recover
